Course details

Class Timings
Class times are published as part of the course information and are subject to change where necessary. Any changes will be communicated to students with reasonable notice. Students may request alternative class times, which may be considered where the teacher has availability and there is sufficient demand for the proposed timetable. Requests cannot be guaranteed.




Course dates and timetable
Classes are held online via BigBlueButton at https://bbb.hanleyenglish.com. The link to the classroom is provided through the Student Portal (Moodle course) found at https://learn.hanleyenglish.com and can be accessed via the student’s login and password. Please contact the tutor at info@hanleyenglish.com if you are unable to access the online classroom.
Maximum 6 students per class.


Course Provision

The monthly course fee includes:


1 hour 25 minutes live online group classes according to the published timetable;
access to the Hanley English Student Portal Moodle course for the duration of the student’s enrolment;
access to extra course materials and learning resources provided through Moodle;
written and/or online feedback provided through Moodle as part of the course;
access to relevant course activities, exercises and assessment materials provided through Moodle.



The monthly course fee is an equalised payment based on the overall course provision and is not calculated according to the number of hours scheduled in each individual month. The number of classes and teaching hours may therefore vary between months according to the course timetable and published holiday dates.


Based on the scheduled live tuition, the equivalent average tuition rate is €8.22 per hour for group classes, based on a fee of €850 for the full amount of classes in the academic year.

Annual Payment
Students who pay the full course fee in advance receive a discounted price of €765. This discount is conditional upon enrolment for the full academic-year course. If a student withdraws from the course before its scheduled end date, any refund will be calculated in accordance with the applicable cancellation and refund provisions, and the annual-payment discount may no longer apply.


Coursebook and additional materials
Students are required to obtain the coursebook specified for the course. The cost of the coursebook is not included in the course fee and must be purchased separately by the student.
Hanley English may also provide additional learning materials, activities, audio, video and other resources through the Moodle Student Portal. These materials are included in the course fee unless otherwise stated.

Holidays or days without classes
The tutor follows the local educational calendar within the Valencia region in Spain, and classes will not be held on these dates, inclusive, as follows:


9^th October 2026
12^th October 2026
8^th December 2026
Christmas holidays: 22^nd December 2026 – 6^th January 2027 (inclusive)
Fallas festival: 15^th March 2027 – 19^th March 2027 (inclusive)
Easter holidays 25^th March 2027 – 5^th April 2027 (inclusive)


Minimum Numbers


Group courses require a minimum of 2 students to run.
If fewer than 2 students are enrolled in a group, Hanley English may:
cancel the group, in which case students will receive a refund for any payments made for classes that will not be provided; or
offer the remaining student the option to continue as an individual student at the applicable individual tuition rate, subject to their agreement.


During the initial three-month start-up period, from September to November 2026, alternative arrangements may be agreed between the student and the tutor on a case-by-case basis.




Payment
The monthly course fee is €85, payable in advance on the first day of each month.
If payment is not received when due, Hanley English may suspend access to the course, Moodle materials and classroom links until the outstanding payment has been received.
For subsequent months, If payment remains outstanding 7 days after the payment due date, Hanley English may suspend the student’s access to the course, Moodle materials and classroom links until the outstanding payment has been received.
The course fee covers the classes scheduled for the relevant month. Please see the Attendance and Missed Classes section for the policy regarding missed classes.


Attendance and missed classes
Students must provide at least 24 hours’ notice if they are unable to attend a scheduled class.
Where at least 24 hours’ notice is given, the student may choose either to:
reschedule the missed class, subject to availability; or
receive a refund corresponding to the value of the missed class.
For students paying monthly, the value of a missed class will be calculated using the equivalent average hourly tuition rate stated under Course Provision.
For classes paid for individually, the student may either reschedule the class, subject to availability, or receive a full refund of the amount paid for that class.
Where less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the student will not be entitled to a refund or rescheduling, except where exceptional circumstances prevent the student from providing the required notice.
This policy does not affect any statutory rights the student or consumer may have under applicable law.



Cancellation and Right of Withdrawal



Where applicable under Spanish consumer protection legislation, consumers who enter into a distance contract have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 calendar days from the conclusion of the contract, without having to give a reason or incur a penalty.
To exercise this right, the consumer must notify Hanley English of their decision to withdraw by an unequivocal statement, for example by email or through the online withdrawal procedure provided by Hanley English.
Where a valid right of withdrawal is exercised, Hanley English will refund the payments received in accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation.
If the consumer expressly requests that the course begin before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period, the service may begin during this period. If the consumer subsequently exercises their right of withdrawal after the service has begun, Hanley English may charge an amount proportionate to the service provided up to the time the consumer communicates their withdrawal, in accordance with applicable law.
How to exercise the right of withdrawal
To exercise the statutory right of withdrawal, the consumer may send an unequivocal statement to Hanley English, for example by email to info@hanleyenglish.com, or use the [Model Withdrawal Form] provided by Hanley English.
The use of the model withdrawal form is not mandatory; any clear statement communicating the consumer’s decision to withdraw is sufficient.

This right does not affect any other statutory rights the consumer may have.



Cancellation by the Student



Outside the statutory right of withdrawal described above, students may cancel their enrolment in an ongoing course by notifying Hanley English.
For courses paid for on a monthly basis, cancellation will take effect at the end of the current paid month. No further monthly payments will be due after the cancellation takes effect.
Payments already made for the current month will not normally be refunded solely because the student chooses to stop attending, except where otherwise provided by these Terms and Conditions or by applicable law.
Cancellation of an ongoing course does not affect the student’s rights under the Attendance section in relation to individual classes missed with the required notice.


Cancellation by Hanley English


Hanley English reserves the right to cancel a course before it begins where circumstances make it necessary to do so, including where there are insufficient enrolments to run the course.


If Hanley English cancels a course before it begins, students will be offered a full refund of all amounts paid for the cancelled course, or, where appropriate, the option to transfer their enrolment to another suitable course.


If Hanley English is unable to continue providing a course after it has begun, students will be informed as soon as reasonably possible and will be offered an appropriate alternative arrangement or a refund corresponding to any part of the course that has not been provided.


Hanley English may also make reasonable changes to the timetable, teacher, course materials or delivery arrangements where necessary, provided that such changes do not materially alter the course purchased by the student.


Force Majeure and Exceptional Circumstances
Hanley English will not be responsible for a failure or delay in providing a scheduled class where this is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including serious illness, technical or internet failures, power outages, natural disasters or other exceptional or unforeseen circumstances.
Where a class cannot be provided for such a reason, Hanley English will endeavour to reschedule the class or provide an appropriate alternative arrangement. Where this is not reasonably possible, any refund due will be determined in accordance with applicable law and these Terms and Conditions.
Nothing in this section limits any statutory rights that the student or consumer may have.


Student Responsibilities
Students are expected to:
attend classes regularly and participate appropriately;
complete any preparation, homework or other learning activities reasonably required as part of the course;
treat the tutor and other students respectfully;
use the Moodle Student Portal and other course systems responsibly and only for their intended purposes;
keep their login details secure and not share them with other people; and
provide accurate and up-to-date information when enrolling on the course.
Students are responsible for ensuring that they have the equipment, internet connection and software necessary to participate in online classes, as described in the Online Classes and Technical Requirements section.


Under-18 Students
Students under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian before enrolling on the course.
Where a student is under 18, Hanley English may require the parent or legal guardian to provide their name, contact details and confirmation of their parental or legal authority before the student’s enrolment is accepted.
The parent or legal guardian is responsible for providing any consent required for the student’s participation in the course and for ensuring that the information provided during enrolment is accurate.
Where appropriate, Hanley English may communicate with the parent or legal guardian regarding the student’s enrolment, payments, attendance, course progress or other matters relating to the provision of the course.
Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that the student has a suitable and safe environment in which to participate in online classes.
These Terms and Conditions apply to the student’s participation in the course. Where the student is under 18, references to “the student” include the student and, where applicable, their parent or legal guardian.
Online Classes and Technical Requirements
Classes are delivered online using BigBlueButton at https://bbb.hanleyenglish.com and the Hanley English Moodle Student Portal at https://learn.hanleyenglish.com
Students are responsible for having a suitable device, reliable internet connection, functioning microphone and, where required, camera, together with any software or browser required to access the course.
Students should test their equipment and internet connection before attending their first class and should contact Hanley English as soon as possible if they experience difficulties accessing the course.
Hanley English is not responsible for a student’s inability to attend a class where this is caused by the student’s own equipment, internet connection, software or other technical problems.
Where a technical problem affects Hanley English’s ability to provide a scheduled class, Hanley English will endeavour to reschedule the class or provide an appropriate alternative arrangement.



Course Materials and Intellectual Property
Course materials provided by Hanley English, including worksheets, presentations, recordings, activities, feedback, documents and other original materials, are provided for the student’s personal educational use only.
Students must not reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, share or otherwise make course materials available to third parties without the prior written permission of Hanley English.
Students must not share their Moodle account or access credentials with another person.
Copyright and other intellectual property rights in original materials created by Hanley English remain the property of Hanley English unless otherwise stated.
Where third-party materials are used as part of the course, they remain subject to the copyright and licensing terms of their respective owners.



Privacy and Personal Data
Hanley English processes students’ personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Spanish data protection legislation.
Information about how Hanley English collects, uses, stores and protects personal data, and about students’ rights in relation to their personal data, is provided in the Hanley English Privacy Policy.
By enrolling on the course, students acknowledge that their personal data will be processed as described in the Privacy Policy.
Where a student is under 18, the personal data of the student and their parent or legal guardian may be processed for the purposes of administering the enrolment, providing the course, managing payments and communicating about the student’s participation.



Complaints
Hanley English aims to provide a high-quality service and encourages students to raise any concerns as soon as possible so that they can be addressed promptly.
Complaints should normally be submitted in writing to info@hanleyenglish.com, explaining the nature of the complaint and, where possible, the relevant course, class or incident.
Hanley English will acknowledge and consider complaints and will endeavour to provide a response within a reasonable period.
Making a complaint does not affect any statutory rights the student or consumer may have.



Changes to the Course
Hanley English may make reasonable changes to the course where necessary, including changes to course materials, teaching methods, timetable, teacher or online platform, provided that such changes do not materially alter the course purchased by the student.
Where a significant change is necessary and materially affects the course, Hanley English will inform affected students as soon as reasonably possible and, where appropriate, offer a suitable alternative arrangement.
Changes required because of circumstances beyond Hanley English’s reasonable control, including illness, technical problems, internet or infrastructure failures, or other unforeseen circumstances, will be handled in accordance with the relevant provisions of these Terms and Conditions.
Changes to These Terms
Hanley English may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time, for example to reflect changes in applicable law, services or administrative procedures.
The Terms and Conditions applicable to a student’s enrolment are those accepted by the student at the time of enrolment.
Any changes that materially affect an existing student’s rights or obligations will not apply retrospectively without the student’s agreement, unless a change is required by law.



Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Spain.
Where the student is a consumer, nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes any mandatory rights or protections granted to consumers under applicable Spanish or European Union law.
